SWDC Special Awards Well Received

At the 2014 Championships SWDC had the second offering of the Vintage Award. The Vintage class was renamed the Classic Combination Highest Total (age of the rider plus age of the horse plus percentage score for a championship ride). SWDC was able to give prize money for this award in 2014 due to the fact that there were two $250 sponsors, Fran Dearing Kehr and an Anonymous person. There will again be a Classic Combination award in 2015 hopefully with a sponsor.

2014 was the first time we offered a Junior Walk Trot Championship which was well received. In 2015 SWDC will offer an Adult Amateur Walk Trot Championship in addition to the junior. A thank you goes out to Leslie Rohrer for sponsoring the new division/class.

Also in 2014 we gave patches to riders competing in SWDC classes at the Championships. We are looking for 10 $100.00 sponsors so that we can do the patches again in 2015. Donors will be listed on our website.

SWDC Division/Class sponsorships are always welcome. They are $500 to cover the prizes and prize money. (If you can’t afford the full $500 go together with someone else.) The more sponsorships, the more prize money we can distribute. Donors of any of the sponsorships will be listed on the front page of the SWDC website and in the show program. 2014 Sponsors included: Evelyn and Frank Angelle – Fourth Level Open; Anonymous - Prix St George Open; In the Irons - Intro B Jr/YR;Windy Knoll Farm - Classic Combination High Score Open; Anonymous is sponsoring - Classic Combination High Score Adult Amateur; LJR Marketing Inc, Leslie Rohrer - 2nd Level Adult Amateur

Bee Pape Scholarship Fund
In honor of Bee Pape - who was a foundation stone for dressage in Region 9. A wonderful, kind, and generous lady, always there to help She gave countless hours to all of us, and to this sport we love. Bee's children – Susan Peacock, Sarah Pape Hester and William Pape and their families – asked that memorial donations to be made to the "Bee Pape Scholarship Fund" for use in Region 9. Bee was a great supporter of grass roots dressage, and Susan asked that a fund be set up to help our grass root members. Specifics of the fund, will be released later. We are thrilled about this opportunity for our regional members. And truly appreciate the generosity of Susan, and her family. And of your donations, to a much needed scholarship.
